First ever Collegiate Vainglory tournament coming to PAX East

There’s not a week that goes by without some new eSports-related announcement from Vainglory!  It was officially announced today that Vainglory will be partnering with Collegiate StarLeague (CSL) to host the first Collegiate Vainglory event at PAX East this coming weekend. CSL is best known for organizing collegiate competitions for games such as Starcraft 2, League of Legends, and DOTA2, with over two-hundred and fifty schools participating in the AZUBU Collegiate Champions competition last November.

Only four universities will participate in this first time single-elimination tournament, and being that PAX East will be held in Boston, it is no surprised that all four universities are based around that region:

  • University of Massachusetts, Amherst
  • Boston University
  • Westfield State University
  • University of Massachusetts, Lowell

The competition will be streamed live on Twitch’s very own channel at 1:30pm EST on April 24th.  With the partnerships with Twitch and CSL now in place, we can only expect Vainglory to expand its footprint in the collegiate eSports scene.  University eSports clubs may want to start looking into putting together their Vainglory teams now!
