Cloud9 enters Vainglory, acquires Nemesis Hydra

And another major eSports organization enters the Halcyon Fold!  Cloud9, best known for its success in CS:GO and League of Legends, have just acquired one of the longest-running competitive organizations in Vainglory history in Nemesis Hydra.

Cloud9 Vainglory team captain, HardekAs one of the longest-running competitive organizations in Vainglory history, Nemesis Hydra is only North American team to make Semifinals/Grand Finals Day of every seasonal championship to date.  Team Captain Rommel “Hardek” Soriano has long been a fan favorite with his dedication to the Vainglory community.  This season, along with Joseph “iLoveJoseph” Samano and Christopher “LostBoyToph” Basco, Nemesis Hydra has once again earned themselves a spot at the 2016 North America Summer Live Championships.  Only this time, they will be competing under a new name!

Regarding the acquisition,Danan Flander, General Manager of Cloud9, has this to say: “Nemesis Hydra is Cloud9’s first team dedicated to a touchscreen esport, and the team’s talent playing Vainglory throughout the last couple of seasons has been undeniable. It’s incredible to see how far Vainglory esports have grown in just a year, and we knew we wanted to be part of this exciting evolution in esports. We can’t wait for the “Battle in Seattle” this weekend!”

The team will face-off against familiar foes such as fellow eSports giant Team SoloMid, Hammers Kinetic & Velocity, and Phoenix Reign in hopes to secure a slot in the first-ever Vainglory World Championship tournament taking place in December.  Viewers can tune in to the action on starting at 4PM PDT on Friday, September 2.
