From Hammers to Hollywood: TCL Chinese Theatre and Hammers Esports Create “Hollywood Esports”

Who says a homegrown mobile esports organization can’t make it big?  Today, Hammers Esports and the TCL Chinese Theatre announced the formation of Hollywood Esports (HWES).  Set to be based in Los Angeles, the new organization will utilize the landmark TCL Chinese Theatres on Hollywood Boulevard as their new arena.

“We are bringing to Los Angeles an exceptional esports franchise to become our local team,” says Robert K. Laity, CEO of the TCL Chinese Theatre. “The esports world deserves a local fan base in addition to a global following in much the same way that other sports like basketball, football, and baseball have strong and close affiliations with fans in major cities across the US. Los Angeles now has its newest team to follow and support.”

King ‘KIMA’ Perez De Tagle, Founder and CEO of Hammers Esports, adds: “The Hammers organization looks to lead the trend of esports teams being more accessible and connected to local fans. Our affiliation with the TCL Chinese Theatre, an incredible Los Angeles landmark, and the creation of Hollywood Esports bridges the gap between our global fans and gamers of all kinds. As the Hollywood Hammers, our teams welcome other competing esports teams to challenge us in our home arena. Concurrently, Hollywood Esports will work closely with the TCL Chinese Theatre to develop multiple esports content strategies with the production of tournaments, game launches and events.”

The Hammers organization has come a long ways since its humble beginnings as a guild in Vainglory.  Led by Kima (who was in Montreal with us to co-produce the Clash Royale Clash of the North competition!) and R4GE, the Hammers team has worked extremely hard in not only recruiting and managing top talents in their Vainglory/Clash Royale/Overwatch roster, but also in developing great mobile esports content and competition through the likes of Clan Royale League and their team of streamers.  We at MoEsport couldn’t be more happy for our friends at Hammers, and we can’t wait to see what will come next with Hollywood Esports!
